The decision to appoint a cladding remediation specialist would take a considerable amount of time from design and approval through to the works commencing. In the meantime, the danger remained of tiles falling to ground.
It was decided to look at temporary alternatives such as erecting a scaffold fan around the entire perimeter of the building, this was discounted by the client and consultants appointed. Manchett were approached by IQ to design a netting system that would retain the terracotta tiles in place on 17 individual elevation sections around the building until a new cladding was designed and commissioned.
